Guides and How To's

New to Cobb Accessport? Then please take the time to go through this section. The videos from Cobb Tuning are invaluable and we recommend them to all customers. Watch this video below first!

*Please take note that while flashing a vehicle, the Cobb Accessport must be securely plugged in and under no circumstance can you turn off the vehicle during the flash unless advised by the Accessport. This will lead to a 'bricked' ecu and the vehicle unable to start.

- Install, Pair, Marry a Cobb Accessport to a vehicle.

When you first get a Cobb Accessport, you will need to install/pair/marry it to your vehicle before you can load any ECU maps onto your car. Once an Accessport is installed on a vehicle, it cannot be used on another vehicle at the same time. You will need to uninstall it first.

Part of the process of installing a Cobb Accessport to a vehicle, The Accessport actually saves a copy of the current ECU Map that is on the vehicle. When you uninstall the Cobb Accessport, it will load that original ECU Map back onto the vehicle leaving no traces of the Tuned ECU Map behind.

Here is a great video from Cobb Tuning explaining the steps:

- I got my OTS Map, what now?

That’s great! Now you have to upload the map file to your Cobb Accessport, then Flash/Load the Map file to your ECU using the Cobb Accessport.

First of all, Download and Install Cobb Accessport Manager onto your PC or MAC from here

Then, follow the below video tutorial from Cobb Tuning.

If you prefer to read the instructions from Cobb Tuning, follow this link.

Once your map is flashed onto the vehicle, you are good to go!

- Cobb Accessport Main Menu overview

Here's a quick rundown on the main menu of the Cobb Accessport.

- How to Datalog using the Accessport

A great feature of the Cobb Accessport is its ability to log data straight off the vehicle's ECU. This is a critical part of e-tuning/remote tuning.

- Using the Troubleshooting menu to read codes and Reset ECU.

The Cobb Accessport allows you to CEL (check engine lights) codes that pop up as well as reset the ECU to clear codes and learnt parameters.

- Using the Tune menu to Change ECU Maps, Adjust Idle, Launch Control, and Flat Foot Shifting.

The Tune Menu of the Accessport allows you to switch ECU Maps (if you have multiple maps) and check what map is currently loaded on the ECU. You are also able to adjust idle RPM, and restore Cobb issued OTS maps for your vehicle if you deleted them.

On vehicles with Launch Control and Flat Foot Shifting support, this is where you can set the activation RPM, but keep in mind, every time the ECU is reset or reflashed, the activation RPM is reset back to default.

* There is a Timing adjustment menu which we do not recommend changing.

- Setting Up Gauges for Live monitoring.

Live Monitoring is another invaluable feature of the Cobb Accessport, and we usually like to have 6 gauges displayed on our own vehicles displaying everything from Ethanol content, Boost, fuel trims, to knock.

Setting it up is easy, here's a great overview from Cobb Tuning.
